Slicks need heat, and on a kart track there isn't room to put it in on the first lap. These are Moto-Tron's Pro-Extreme digital warmers in the two small-wheel sizes, made for 10" and 12" race wheels: the same fireproof shell, silicone heating wire and ±1°C controller as the superbike set, cut down to fit.

Which size

12" — VMC GP12 and MT-01 Motard (100/90-12 front, 120/80-12 rear). The heating wire runs out over the sidewall and rim edge, so the whole tire comes up evenly rather than just the centre of the tread. Set the temperature on the controller and it holds there, ±1°C, until you pull the warmer off. Fewer cold-tire crashes, longer tire life, and lap one counts.

Specifications

Outer shell: fireproof fiber material

Heating element: high-performance silicone heating wire, with extra wire along the edges for rim coverage

Control: automatic digital temperature control, accurate to ±1°C, readout on the warmer

Coverage: full tread plus sidewall, rim-hugger skirt

Power: 110V North American plug

Colours: Black, Red, Blue, Glow Red, Glow Green

In the box

One front warmer, one rear warmer, with controllers fitted.
